Sharing Life Experiences: Reflections from an English Forum

Hi everyone, I want to share about a time I had to be flexible at work. I work in healthcare administration. In 2020, we all faced the big change of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthcare always changes, but COVID was very new and we didn't know much at first. It changed many things, like how we handled patient visits and approvals for new treatments. It made our administrative work difficult and uncertain.

My first reaction was to accept the change. I knew we needed to adapt fast. So, I was very flexible. I was ready to learn new rules and ways of working quickly. I didn't follow the old process; I just tried to find the best new way to do my tasks in administration.

Here are the answers to the questions:

1. What was the result of the experience?

We managed to continue giving healthcare services. Our administrative team quickly changed how we worked to help doctors and patients. Later, we even improved some processes, especially with technology. It showed we could be strong and adapt in a very hard time.

2. How did your flexibility and adaptability help you to deal with the situation?

Being flexible helped a lot. Things changed every day. Because I was ready to learn fast and change my tasks, I could keep helping the team and patients. Accepting the situation instead of being upset helped me focus on finding solutions and adapting.

3. Would you change anything in order to deal in a better way with it?

No, I would not change how I acted. Being flexible and ready to learn quickly was the best way to handle that totally new situation. It helped me and my team get through it and have a good result, even with the problems.

It was a hard time, but we learned a lot about being flexible.

Thanks for reading!

Best.
